Bronze Charioteer Helmet Life size on marble base

The bronze helmet provided protection but was also a personal statement with a design commissioned by the owner. This cheek helmet has a charioteer driving a chariot drawn by four horses. The image commemorates King Pelops who won the chariot race that was the first Olympic event in 700 BC. and won the island of Peloponnese. Pelops (the kings name + nesse meaning island = Pelops island). The detail work is very precise and beautifully executed. The shape of the helmet is the favorite hoplite soldier with a nose guard and plume. The helmet comes on a black marble base. Each helmet comes with a Warranty and History Certificate.
